central locking is not working?

my central locking des not work so when i open the door with the key the alarm goes off, i replaced the battery in the key, its still the same (its has been quite a heavy drizzle)t he make is a vauxhall vectra 1800 sri

Just a quick mail to say Thanks Robbo. I know this was not my car but I've been searching for a way to fix the same problem and saw your mail before I asked a question on here.

It worked and now my central locking and alarm are fine again.

try the key in the ignition with with the ignition lights on (engine not running) doors shut and press the two fob keys together, the doors should lock and open,now take keys out of ignition and try
