How to change a Ford KA clutch?

As above how do you change a Ford KA clutch on a S plate and how easy is it to do?

Many thanks in advance.

Hi ... in the middle of this very job. Have two trolley jacks at the moment. One supporting the engine and the other the transmission. The above seems to imply that the the engine can stay were it is and when the transmission bolts are removed that it can be lowered away from the engine. Is there enough room to do this or as the haynes manual says does the engine and transmission need to drop together? Regards, Gary

>raise the frt of the car and remove the wheels (both)
>pop both bottom ball joints ready to pull drive shafts out (leaving UJ housing in place).
>removing fluid from box is recommended
>remove air box and battery
>disconnect hydralic feed to clutch slave cyl or cable to lever and speedo
>support engine (cradle or jack)
>unbolt starter and all Gbox bolts
>unbolt both mounts
>BOX SHOULD SEPARATE RELATIVELY EASILY, if force needed - check for hidden bolts
during the job continue to assess your progress and make decisions based on safety not eaze.

If you are going to DIY I suggest you get a haynes type manual £20 or try your local library, but you will need a good toolkit inc tall axle stands, trolley jacks and a clutch alignment tool, the book time to replace the clutch is 3.1hrs, probably would work out as cheap to take it to a fast fit place! then it will come with a warranty!!
