How can I repair carpet burn?

I have a couple of small cigarette burn marks in my carpet, how can I patch them to blend in, without messing up the carpet itself? Thanks!

Very similar, but use carpet fluff and pva to fill in the hole

Its tricky but it can be done. You'll need:

Some carpet adhesive (super glue or similar will do)
Some small nail scissors

First of all clean what black marks you can from the hole with some standard household stuff and leave to dry.

Then, get your scissors and gently cut away all the black burn marks from the hole. It will likely leave a slightly bigger hole. This is ok, we're just getting rid of the obvious eye-catching marks. Dont go mad though.

Then go to a corner of your carpet, a part that isn't important, near the door hinge or somewhere where you wont mind losing a bit. Get your nail scissors and cut a small part of the carpet away to match the size of the hole.

Go back to the hole and make sure your new bit matches the hole (too big and it will just stick out). Apply a TINY amount of glue to the bottom of the hole, too much and you'll either end up crudding up the hole with glue or sticking your finger to the carpet when you fill it in. Not good. Quickly and carefully push your bit of carpet in the hole. Leave to dry. Level the new bit off if necessary by clipping at it with the nail scissors.

A crude method. I've has success with it though.

Good luck.
