Cannot shut tailgate?

When I close the tailgate on my vauxhall vectra it doesn't catch so I am unable to close it. Any ideas?

latch may have closed-to open you will have to either turn key or pull handle whilst doing so try to flick open latch with a screwdriver or similar.
