Removal of Starter Motor on Alfa Romeo 156 1.8TS 2002 ?

Is there a preferred or best way to remove the starter motor on a Alfa Romeo 156 1.8 T.S 2002 model.

Take off the air inlet pipe and undo the first bolt on the starter that holds the 2 water pipes in place, then you can move these pipes down and access the starter with one hand from the top, its virtually impossible to acces from underneath, this is the only way I can manage it.
