Mend Dyson DC04 Vacuum Cleaner Repair

I need to change the flexible cable on my Dyson DC04?

To achieve the renewal of the cable it is necessary to remove the switch to which the cable is connected. My efforts to prise out the switch have had to be abandoned for fear of causing damage. Can you advise method of removing the switch.

It will come out. There is a small hole(gap) on the switch itself. You need to push a very thin driver down to release the plastic holding catch and prise out the whole thing gently. This then allows access via a holding screw.
