Mend Singer Bobbin Machine

How to wind the bobbin on a Singer 2010 Touch Tronic?

I have a old singer 2010 Touch Tronic machine I aquired from a aunt. She purchased the machine in 1984. I have manuals etc. but find it impossable to wind or fill the bobbin. The instructions do not help. it is in excellent condition, but I can't use it. It worked perfectly prior to her death. Help!!

Mel,
Thread the machine as usual. After threading the needle take the thread down in front of the foot between the toes and bring it under the bottom of foot up to the back and tightly rap the thread around the screw holding the foot. Then in the bobbin case slide the leaver toward you. Press 15 on the machine then press the repeat or bobbin button. Then press the foot control as if tou were sewing. After filling the bobbin always touch 1. Touch 1 after anytime you select a diffrent stitch pattern. 1 is like home for a computer. Hope this helps!

I am having the same problem. Even had the bobbin winder repaired, and the thread won't catch on the bobbin to wind it.

This isn't an answer but huge HOORAY and massive thanks to all the people on here who solved my problem in 2min. I've only been trying to thread my bobbin for about the last hour & a half; I could probably recite the instructions from the manual in my sleep! And it turns out that the manual is wrong - it tells you to select 15 and then the green dot. All I had to do was to leave the needle in the normal position and it worked a treat.

Thanks so much for your help.

If anyone could put it on youtube that would be great. I have tried to follow both directions. My thread keeps breaking though. Thanks

Without pushing the touch screen button the bobbin won't wind.

I have a Singer 2010 and here's what i do: I thread the machine as usual and go thru needle and wrap thread around screw that holds on presser foot. I open bobbin case and pull the white level that is flat toward me. I push the putton that shows a round circle with a center on the touch panel and start the machine. The secured thread breaks and the bobbin begins to fill. Don't fill beyond the outside black line on the bobbin.

Mel, did this answer help you, because I'm having the same problem with the same machine...

Hello Mel,
Thread the top of the machine up as usual all the way to through needle, make sure the presser foot is up,
select straight stitch, open the slide plate, push the little catch to the right so it raises the winder, take the thread from the needle and wind it round the screw that holds the presser foot on a few times, press on the foot control slowly and wind the bobbin
and don't go past the last red mark or mark on the bobbin.
When it is full close the slide plate to drop the winder down, pull the thread to the back of the machine and you are ready to sew.
