Close space between freezer door seal and body of refrigrator?

A 1/32nd inch by 6" long space has appeared berween the door seal and body on my 3 year old top freezer/refrigerator in my garage. Is there a way to close the gap without replacing the seal? Like adding insulating tape?

Hi HOWARD

I have placed a pencil in the fold of the door seal
this as worked prfectly, the gap was about 4" long
if your gap is longer you may have to use maybe
a piece of bamboo, similar to what would be used
to support a plant.
