Mend Hotpoint CTD40 Tumble Dryer Water Container

my hotpoint ctd40 indicates empty water when its already empty?

when attempting to dry clothes in my hotpoint ctd40 the dryer goes straight to cool tumble then approximately 30 seconds later stops and the empty water light comes on even though there is no water in the water container, have checked float on back of dryer and seems to be working,

When you checked the float, was there water around it. If so, maybe the pump isnt lifting the water into the container.
