Mend Dyson DC04 Vacuum Repair

Please help, landlord will kill us?

We duly cleaned out our Dyson DC04 (no manual were left for this) and after having put it back together, .... problem no 1. The macine won't stand up any longer. Problem no 2 - machine won't suck any longer. It must be something small we are missing. Please, if anyone can help!

If you will look at the part that is stopping the vacuum from standing upright you will see a black button. Press on this while pulling the movable part out toward the brush roller until your hear a click. Now you should have suction and your vacuum should be able to stand all the way up. Voila!
