Mine's just done the same. I found the following info elsewhere on the web. Haven't tested either suggestion yet tho:

Aiwa SE211K St/by only
R617 high (replace with 390K 1/4W) - located behind LOPTX.This causes the micro-controller to shut the set down and store this condition in the EEPROM. You can either replace the EEPROM with the correct one from Aiwa (which then requires setting up with a special handset), or use an EEPROM programmer to reset the values. There are two values that require resetting: $0139 should be $00 ($2F when faulty) $013C should be $00 ($33 when faulty)

QUESTION
hi,
i got me an 'aiwa' 21 tv not very old, maybe 2-3 yrs and a short while ago there was a power drop as opposed to a complete outage shortly afterwards normal power to the house was restored.
when you now try to switch the tv power on it will not come out of standby. new batteries in remote, and it does not come out of standby when manually selecting up or down channel on the set either, as it once did.
any suggestions?

ANSWER
The se211 was prone to this fault but luckily there is an easy repair :D
Take the main board out of the slide and remove the crt base board.
Find and replace TR31, C61 and resolder the RED lead to the vertical hold pot.
Make sure that there is a maximum of 11.9v on the collector of TR3, and the waveform is as square as you can get it by rotating VR13.
A phillips TR31 is best. (if you cant get the surface mount version, use a standard but try and take 1mm off each side with a sharp stanley knife)
