Mend Alfa Romeo 156 Petrol Smell Plate

Petrol smell?

I have bought an 05 plate Alpha Romeo 156. It emits a petrol smell inside the car when I am stationary at traffic lights etc or in traffic, but not always. It smells heavily of petrol ouside in the engine when i have stopped. Three garages cannot find anything wrong with it. Does anyone else have this problem?

If you bought it from a garage take it back and demand it gets fixed. If it was a private sale then you have to persivere with the garages till they fix it. Petrol smells mean fumes which mean possible fires, dont just put up with it get it looked at asap.
