How do I bleed this Riello Boiler?

Hi,
I need to bleed the oil boiler and need to check the process. I spoke to an engineers by phone but when I turned it on it is giving out lots of black smoke. I have attached pictures of the boiler in question.

There is more to bleeding/purging the Riello. I've always done my own boiler work, and just installed a new Buderus with a Riello burner. The Riello is new to me, and I'm having an issue. I haven't purged the pump properly. Besides bleeding the fuel line to the burner, you have to purge the air from the pump. That's why I'm here - looking for detailed info on that. Mine will eventually start and runs fantastic, after many starts and stops of flame. It's acting exactly as if air were trapped on the pressure side between the pump and nozzle. But unlike say, a Beckett, the Riello won't self purge - there is a procedure where you have to remove the nozzle line at the pump. That's what I'm in search of.

If it's chucking out loads of smoke, this usually means it's running rich (ie too much oil or the air setting is wrong).

I take it that it lights - the usual reason for "bleeding" and oil pump is that you've run out of oil and it's airlocked.

Why do you want to bleed it? Is this what you're referring to?
