replace espag handle, old spindle is stuck in lock mech. do i force it out?
My handle came off the pvcu window, i have bought a replacement but the old spindle is stuck in the locking system. Is there another screw i am missing or is it just because the windows are 20 yrs old and need some brute force to pull it out?
After trying to remove it yesterday, I sought advice here . I saw here to use WD40. I used a silicone spray. left it for hour but still stuck. However this morning I tried again and it came out easily.
Hope this helps. I am old and don't have much strength so was delighted to get this out.

thanks shaun, i will try that. Although the spindle is stuck in the window itself so i may not have explained myself very well. Cheers

try spraying wd40 into square hole where spindle sits,give it a few minutes to soak in then try again,use a pair of pliers and pull with a bit of force,dont yank at it as may damage espag.hope this helps
