how do you mend a hole in a rusted iron waste pipe?

there are a couple of ways to do it depending on how much of a job you want to make of it.you could patch hole with a tank repair kit but to do it properly,the damaged section of pipe should be cut out and replaced,you could use timesaver fittings and pipe(could be expensive though)
