Our Emerson 31" flat screen TV is being used as our computer monitor. It worked beautifully for two years, but now it shows a fluctuation of colour and then no colour, in and out. It just started a couple days ago. Our computer was bought right at the end of 08. Is this colour fluctuation normal? What to do?

I have the same problem w/ vol either going off or going to full blast..........My solution is to take it out back and shoot it; and never buy another Emerson product ever.......Maybe Emerson will wise up and make a better product..........I consider Emerson garbage at this point.

Mine doesn't have a VCR, and it still shuts off only after a few seconds... same problem I've seen for several, several people posting in blogs. Looked on google for a service manual but could not find one anywhere. I currently have my 32" LCD Emerson TV (MDL # LC320EM9) disassembled on my dining room table looking for burnt components or something awry. Still cannot find anything.

Could someone hook me up with a link or download for the service manual (not owners manual) or the fix to the problem??? Thank you to anyone that knows whats going on.

I have the same problem with my Emerson LCD TV. Manually and with the remote, it will turn on only for seconds. Is there a "call back" or something on these TVs? It seems to be a common problem!

Same problem here...support says to take it to the repair shop, but of course, there's only a 90 day labor warranty.

Just bought a 32' Emerson HDTV a few months ago. Now when I go to turn the TV on it comes on a second and turns its self off. It will not stay on for more than a second. It just flashes Digital Television and blinks off

Because of your determination and persistence (repeatedly turning the set on to watch a program), we will assume there is no smoke or odors coming from the set. Suspect the VCR is not going into a full unload position. To protect itself, it shuts down. If gears have not slipper (the result of forcing a tape in or pulling a tape out), try replacing the VCR's rubber. Don't skimp. All the VCR belts are the same age. Older belts will stretch, get hard or become soft and spongy. Replace ALL the load belts, drive belt, and the rubber idler tire (if present). Suppliers will offer a service kit with all the rubber. If you attempt this, be cautious. Use a permanent marker and mark meshing gears. Many gear sets have markings on them; but may lineup when the mechanism is in a load position.
