fixings?

I'm making a bike repair stand and want some of the fixing which are half wood screw half bolt thread. The idea being to assemble the stand using wing nuts.
I had some but used them and can't remember what they are called.

I used to have a bed frame that assembled using this type of fixing the cross bars fitted over the exposed threaded end and bar secured by nut.

Many thanks to Caine and Rich have found them on Screwfix. I've been searching but obviously not entering the correct info as it kept coming back with everything except these machine/wood fixings.

Saved the day as I'm being nagged in getting this stand made. Mind you caught er in door's out the other day when she said 'If it was me I'd do it....' didn't let her finish just stuck the tools in her hand and said 'Show me how to do it' got out of that job she did it. I might try it again but doubt I'd get away with it twice.

i think what you want is something called handrail fixings.Used in custom/traditional wooden staircase handrails to connect the various odd twist and turns together.woodscrew one end and machine screw other.as to where to get them ,screwfix list as 11850-92 for m8.

They are called "Machine Thread to Wood Thread" you'll find them on page 21 of a Screwfix Direct catalogue.
