Mend Citroen ZX 1.9D Elation Brake Light Break

Wht does my brake fluid light keep coming on?

About six weeks ago, the break fluid light on my 1996 Citroen ZX 1.9D Elation kept flashing on when I was driving down hill. My mechanic topped up the level and it is now happening again. I have been told that it could be a symptom of another problem and Im worried because of the safety factor. I dont have loads of faith in my mechanic!

check the connection on the cap of the brake fluid jar it could just need a clean also check for leaks below the car along all of the pipes it good be some air in the brake system or possible master system failure
