Mend Renault Laguna Immobiliser Starting

Immobiliser problem?

I've got a 1995 renault laguna.For some reason today my key stopped working(unlocking or locking the car).Whenever i open the car manually and try to start the engine it fails and the immobiliser lights keep on flashing.I've also changed the batteries of the key.Can anyone help me as i'm not sure what to do.My mechanic says that he can't do anything about this.

I have the same problem with my 95 Laguna Arrgh!
I went to Renault to obtain the code which cost me £15.I can now start the engine,but it takes a few minutes to put the code in,which you have to do everytime the ingnition has been off for 10 mins.Also my engines tick over is now running that slow that when driving,it often cuts out.
I'm trying to find someone other than Renault to fix the problem,as i dont want to pay through the nose at Renault.
Please let me know if you find anyone?and i'll let you know if i do.Good luck!
