My TomTom One 3rd Edition, 8 months old, has also lost sound. I contacted TomTom and carried out all the procedures they advised (had already done them anyway) with nil results. They then said to return it for repair.
However, I do not have the receipt as the the device was a present from my Son who is at present serving in a "hot spot" overseas and has more on his mind than to think about receipts!!!
I explained this to TomTom but they now say that as I do not have the receipt I will have to pay for the repair. Once they receive my device they will advise me of the cost then leave it up to me to decide what to do.
I can understand their position but would have thought that as I had registered the device their records would show it's age and a little flexibilty would have been a nice touch of customer care.
