mac 2816 won't keep running?

mine dose the same thing, i might rebuild the carburator. but also a tip, the original fuel filters need to be replaced. just get an echo filter. mine is a 1997 and you can get the manuals online free.

Had this same problem. Put new fuel lines on. Found the problem. Part needed is a diaphram assembly metering. It is a diaphram on the bottom of the carburator. You have to take off 4 screws to remove the plate covering it. The diaphram should not have any holes or cracks in it. Found a web site that has a parts break-down and parts list.

You do not need a new trimer. The large stem on the carb goes to the gas tank, the small stem goes to the primmer bulb and then to the tank. The primer goes to the front hole in the tank.

Hello, the fuel line goes from the top connection toward the back of the carby to the hole that's toward the middle of the tank, this would have the filter on it, the other fuel line comes from the outer connection on the primer to the hole on the outer of the tank. The other (middle) connection of the primer goes to the other connection of the carby, the one closer to the pull start cord.
