Hi, I have 2006 Clio, it is a driving scool car and it makes a banging noise which comes from under the passenger side floor when the clutch is brought uo too quickly (which happens quite a lot!) I have taken it to two local garages and to my Renault dealer (the car is still under warranty) They all suspected defective engine mountings but could find nothing wrong, HELP PLEASE!
I'd have said engine mounts too.
Get under the car and give the exhaust a good shake.
If it has been badly fitted or one of the rubber hangers is broken or the wrong type it will hit the floor.
Check the driveshafts and the suspension linkages and bushes.
Does the gearstick jump about?
Take it to a different Renault dealer- I still think it's a failing engine mount!!

If u can recreate the bang on demand,then go to a garage that will let u do so when its up in the air on the ramp.far better chance of finding it if someone is under it watching when it happens.
