why does my tv turn on and off by itself?

when i turn my tv on it turns right back off by itself after a couple of seconds how do i fix this problem

Did you find out what was causing your problem? Please let me know if you do. My LG flat screen does the same thing. After about 20~30 minutes it finally comes on and stays on. When I go to turn it off I have the same problem..... on, off, on, off.....
