i cannot start my renault 1998 espace tdi 2.0 espace?

my 1998 renault espace 2.0 tdi will not start all i am getting is a clicking noise from the starter motor i think, it is not even slightly pushing the engine to start. i keep on trying to use my friends car to bumpstart it but it is not helping at all and i have been trying to find the perfect diagram and advice to but i have not found anything can you please help

Hi
I think your problem is down to a battery, remember that a diesel engine requires a high current battery to start. if trying to jump start from another car it might not have enough grunt.
