re-programming of key fob for Mercedes C180 Classic?

Hi

Anyone can tell me how o reprogram a key for 1999 w202
remote is flashing when I push lock or unlock button but does not turning in the ignition..

I have Mercedes C180 Classic 1999 Model the key will not turn in the ignition switch but it does disengages the steering lock.

its very easy ,put the key in the ignition and remove battery connection for almost 2 or 3 minutes then put the battery and start the engine and it will work as i tried and works well

i have the same problem i have a C200 mercedes wont lock doors or turn in ignition and steering lock on, you can hear clicking sound when you key in, but doesnt turn to position 2, Mercs are telling me it could be anything, from instrument cluster which is £1500+, it could be key it self cost £200 +, or it could be that the computer on board lost its programming cost whooping £2000. but the car probably cost half the price so far quaoted :(( anyone help please

i have changed the ignition on my merc c180 the key needs to be reprogrammed for the car can i get it done without taking the car just the log book as its a new key the car will not start so cant move it to get the key reprogrammed HELP!!!!!

had that key fault with my c180 99 model and it is a fault with the key if you take the key and the log book with id to you local merc dealer they can get you a new key whitch comes pre programed to your car price is around £180 £200 pounds

hi i have a c200 c class kommpresser coupe on 2002 plate what i want to do is change my key caseing to the new one the new key casing is chrome round the edges but my key is plain so what i wanted to do is get my chip or what ever is in side my key and get it transfer it to the other key can that be done? please help

i have the same car and same problem all doors open but steering lock doesnt come off.

the key battery could be the problem may need recoding M.B main dealer for that
