How do I take apart my Rexair Rainbow D4C?

After you have removed the four screws that you can see, you have to remove the rubber gasket. This gasket is glued on so it has to be removed slowly in order to re-use it again. Once the gasket is off, you can remove the shroud. Now you will see four more screws which hold the entire vacuum cleaner together. Put tape on the outside of the vacuum cleaner so you will be able to align the screws and holes after your repair. While you have the vacuum apart, you may want to replace the cord. Unless you replace the switch, you will have to splice your new cord to the old one near the switch. Good Luck

i took my d4c all apart after searching some online schematics. only problem is, i can't get the spider off to finish getting at the motor to replace the lower bearing. anyone know how to get to that lower bearing? thanks,

You have to take off the rubber gasket on the bottom, it is glued down but after this is off you can access the motor. I know - it took the right phone call to a repairman to help me out after weeks frustration! Good Luck!
