singer touch and sew Model 626 bobbin problem?

MY singer touch and sew model 626 machine does not catch the thread from the bobbin. Help.

Yes! My upper plastic gear has split and fell apart. Now, how do I access and replace it?

I had the same problem. It is probably a stripped upper gear (taht is plastic). The gear is inexpensive, about $15.00, but the repair man will charge $25.00 and labor. If you take the top off the machine and look down inside there will be a couple of black plastic gears. The one on the right (horizontal) is probably the problem. Good Luck
