I had the same problem. It is probably a stripped upper gear (taht is plastic). The gear is inexpensive, about $15.00, but the repair man will charge $25.00 and labor. If you take the top off the machine and look down inside there will be a couple of black plastic gears. The one on the right (horizontal) is probably the problem. Good Luck
