Orange multifunction vax cleaner?

My vax cleaner keeps cutting out. At first i thought it was the fuse, so changed fuse still wont operate. Then i thought maybe the socket has blown. Put another item in the socket and the item worked so not the socket. Checked for loose wires in plug and cleaner body, no loose wires found. I noticed when i toggle the on/off switch the red light flickers but doesnt shine brightly. if i leave it for a while sometimes it comes on for a few minutes and then cuts out again. I,ve checked the filters and cleaned them thinking maybe the machine was overheating. Please help.
