used steel seal only yesterday after weighing up the costs i thought i'll lose £30.00 if the stuff dosen't work;cost of new head gasket plus new bolts for my rover 214 sei 1993 £60.00.rang around and picked up a bottle in highgate, london.mechanic said they use it if the new head gasket they've replaced springs a leak(and it worked every time).i had an external water leak jetting out about the calibre of a biro pen just below the manifold so it steamed up like the orient express.followed the directions even rang the company to make sure i was doing it right.today a tiny teeny dribble runs down when engine is cold.loosened the expansion cap and drove it for a few miles and it was ok.spoke to steel seal and maybe one more treatment will stop that dribble too.how long will it hold?i don't have a clue but others attest on their site its' longevity.will keep you informed after i have sunk another bottle load down my cars' throat.would love to hear of others experience and if they did it differently to avoid the mega labour costs involved of replacing a head gasket;could be i may look at re-conditioned engine costs as opposed to replacing head gasket if theres not much difference in price.good luck with all your projects good people and lets hear them all
