Mend Citroen Saxo 1.1 Fuel Plate Start

p reg citroen saxo 1.1 fuel problems?

we have a citroen 1.1 i on a p plate. every other morning it will not start properly as if it is hunting for fuel, and then when it eventually gets goin it splutters and then craps out again. leave it for an hour or so and it starts but i noticed when i was driving it afterwards it seems to be hunting for fuel?????
any ideas??
