VHS player without clear picture?

I recently bought a second-hand Panasonic VHS player. It worked well during my test. But after a few days, when I turned it on, it could no longer product clear picture though the audio sound was there. I can only see a screen with black-white moving shadows. What is the reason and how to fix it?

I have done the cleaning according to your suggestion, but it doesn't work. The player is still the same. Do you or anyone else have any further suggestions?

you need to clean the vidio heads with a clean cloth and white spirit, ensure it is unpluged first, a clean hankerchief will do, use your finger with the hankerchief, dab a little white spirit onto the hanky and lightly rub around the head surface, leave to evaporate, and give it a try, it should do the trick.
