I am not sure of your point here. but it may be addressed by my final para.
When I have looked at the boxes that Lexmark printers are supplied in, it is clearly stated on the box what Operating Systems are supprted by the enlosed CD.
However if you lose that CD and you have W98 or ME then you can't download them because Lexmark withdrew support when Microsoft stopped on-going support. In my opinion this is a bad thing and if people agree with me then they should contact Lexmark direct and complain. I did.
Most printers do not come with Vista drivers yet, which need to be downloaded.
As to sending people to www.lexmark.com not knowing what OS they have. This is How to Fix things and so people need to do a little to help themselves. If they don;t say what the OS is they will find out that is important when they get to Lexmark.
