Mend Double Windows Fitted

Should I accept some condensation in new sealed units?

I have had new bespoke hardwood double glazed windows fitted. During the winter there was a small amount of condensation occurring at the base of each unit. The manufacturer told me that this is normal. I never had this problem with the old PVC units I replaced. Nor have I seen the problem abroad with wooden units. What is the explanation and should I insist that they are re-done?

to answer your question Jane in this country we have the right to have any item we purchase be perfect. althow others in the business of repairing almost anything will tell you what they think you want to hear even though you may not understand the gargin they are trying to throw on to you. you have the right to have them repaired or replaced if you are not completely satified with the product. I wish you good lock however in getting what you really want.

under NO circumstances should there be condensation in the units. This means they have already broken down. Whats more... a minimum of 10 years is normal as a gaurantee on new units.

no the double glazed units should be sealed they should have an inert gas in the moisture indicates air in them and things will only ever get worse
