Servis M6804W washing machine resetting behaviour?

My servis machine is behaving oddly and I wondered whether anyone has experienced the same.
When pressing the start button, the LCD display has always gone out at the same time as a ‘clonking’ noise, and then comeback on and started the cycle. Over the last few months when pressing start it has ‘clonked’ and the LCD display has gone off and not come back on until it is reset and unplugged for a second. Following this it will usually carry on as normal. This behaviour seems to becoming more and more frequent. Does it sound like an electircal problem? thanks for your help.
