clearances for tappets?

Hi, the clearances are measured cold,
Inlet 0.17~0.23mm
Exh 0.27~0.33mm
The adjustment is by adding or removing shims using the formula D=C+B-A
A= required clearance
B= measured clearance
C= existing shim thickness
D= new shim thickness
