OVERHEATING?

ive changed the thermostat but the temp gauge still goes up to the top.the pipes are hot but the rad is cold also the fan comes on ok.There is no heat coming in from the heater inside the car......HELP,If the rad is blocked what is the remedy

look at the overflow jug when its running and see if there are bubbles coming up and if there are you have the signs of a blown headgasket
