I have a tilt and slide door and the handle doesnt seem to be attached to the spindle anymore. The handle just spins round with no resistance and the door is stuck shut. I have looked around the handle and cannot see any screws, any ideas (please!)??
Thanks for your answer, there isn't a grub screw there... The cover doesn't seem to come off either, from what I can see when (levering it a bit) there are screws coming through from the other side! It only has a handle on the inside and looking at a neighbours door (Bit difficult to get to mine 2nd floor!) the screws are not visable on the outside! Could it be screwed in on the lip of the door? Seems to be a multipoint lock the side away from the hadle is a little loose and can be opened a small amount... Is there any other way to release these?

your handles might have a grub screw underneath handle,undo this screw (maybe a 3mm allen/hex screw) and handles will come off or it may have a plate over handle that you can pry off with a flat screwdriver to reveal another plate with screws in,take these screws out and handle will come off.hope this helps
