Mend Recently Its Working

recently bought a caravan how do you know iff its working correctly ?

there is power to it and when its pulled out the elemet seems hot.should there be a noise when connected to mains.how long before it starts to cool down.what is the ignitor for.

the fact that the element is hot is a good sign.you need to leave it running for a few hours and if it has a little ice box this should of started to get cold by then
