how do you disconnect speed sensor to opel zafira radio?

i have just changed the standard cd player in my opel zafira on a v plate to a pioneer unit with the extra unit so i can use my steering wheel controls. when i brake the volume goes down then when i pull off again it goes back up , ive been told that the car has a speed sensor built in. how do you disconnect it?

Had a look in the book and it's the blue/red wire that sends the road speed signal to the radio. My guess is if you snip it...... no signal = no reduction in volume.
