Picture is green, what do I do?

My widescreen tv works great except everything is green. What could the problem be and how do I fix it?

Hi Debbie,
Lately I have had the same problem, recently I came and had a repair man come and look at my mitsubishi big screen. According to him the problem is the CRT Board, which deciedes how much power is distributed to the Red, Green, and Blue lamps. The best thing to do is to have a repair man come and fix it immediately. However, you can make a temporary adjustment by removing the cover on your speakers below the screen. Then unscrew and remove the cover, behind this should be a small box with 6 small knobs that say R, G, and B on them. Turn the one in the middle (G) down slightly and turn the ones on the left and right (R), (B)up. Careful though the knobs are very sensitive. Hope this helped:)

Assuming it is very green..

Is the TV colour ok when run without any add on AV equipment such as DVD, Decoders connected?

If yes, suspect RGB connections from one piece of external equipment & check for a loose connecting cable.
Then eliminate which item by re-connecting each one seperately.

If no, you need to call an engineer, as the fault in the TV could be anything from a penny resistor, £/$20 colour processor or several hundred £/$ to replace a faulty cathode ray tube.

If it's only a slight tint of green it may be possible to rebalance the colours and/or regenerate an old c.r.t. to prolong it's life.
