Sagem D-Box - no sound from any channel?

Hi Guys

My sagem d-box has stopped producing sound. Its showing the channel fine but there is no sonud for any of them. I've heard that re-flashing the box might help but I don't really know what re-flashing is or how i can do it but really want to sort it out because no sound is sh*t! If anyone can send me some detailed instructions on how to sort it out i would be really grateful. My email is ministryofjono@hotmail.com cheers

If checking the scart leads does not work try repeating the 'Initial Installation' process as this also can cure a surprising number of faults. On my 'Goodmans' box you press the 'Menu' button on the remote control and follow the prompts. Choose 'Initial Installation' and press 'Select'. Then confirm by choosing 'Yes' and leave the box and remote control alone for several minutes until the box has searched for available channels and restored the original factory default settings. When it is complete it will return to normal TV operation, usually choosing BBC 1. It really should be as simple as that and hopefully your faults will be gone. Good Luck.

Switch everthing off, unplug everything from the mains, and carefully remove the scart-leads one by one from the Sagem D-Box, your TV, DVD Recorder etcetera. Then visually check each scart-plug on each scart-lead for bent pins. If you find any replace that lead (cheap ones are usually o.k.). Then carefully re-fit each scart-lead making sure that the plugs are properly located and have not gone-in crooked. Doing these things can cure all sorts of faults. Also beware of scart-leads where not all of the pins have been fitted to the scart-plugs (as supplied with some set-top boxes). If you do not fit these in the correct scart-sockets they can produce various faults. Finally switch everything back on and I hope you hear sound again. Good Luck.
