Sounds like one of two problems:
1) Your lint filter and vent pipe are clogged or mostly clogged. Have the vent pipe cleaned all the way from dryer to outdoor vent. Even a small amount of lint build up causes the dryer to work harder.
2) The dryer is no longer heating because of an overload on the thermostat, thermal fuse, or the gas valve assembly. (I do not have knowledge as to why the gas valve assembly would need replaced, however I have been told this is the case by two separate and independent service providers).
On some LG models, the thermostat has a reset switch on it. First you should test to see of the dryer is indeed heating. Just turn it on to a normal drying setting and run for about a minute, then open and feel for heat. It should be fairly warm. If not, then try resetting the thermostat.
Here's how (for model# DLG5932W, yours may be different) :
First, UNPLUG THE ELECTRICITY!!
There are two clips that hold the top to the front. Slide a putty knife into the seam between top and front about two inches from the corners, push the clips backwards and pop the top up.
Next, remove two screws on top of the front. Then open the dryer door and remove the two screws on the front, just below the opening. (BE CAREFULL!! THE DOOR IS GLASS AND THE FRONT WILL FALL IF NOT SUPPORTED!!)
The reset switch in built onto the thermostat. The thermostat is located in the bottom right hand front corner of the dryer. It is behind another component, so it is not easily seen. You may want to use a small mirror to see it. Or just gently feel around for a small round pushbutton.
Once you have reset the switch, close the unit by reversing the steps above.
Test the unit as before. If you get heat, try running full cycles a couple of times. If it still heats, you are good to go. If not, you will need to replace some parts.
I hope this helps!
