I just finished fixing mine, tore in the same place - under the collar and ripped a few coils up also. I poked 4 holes evenly around the beginning and end of the rip behind each metal coil and passed 4 small electrical zip ties through the holes to stitch it back together. I then dabbed hot glue over the zip ties where they pass through the holes for an air tight seal. I pushed a few coils of hose into the collar and made a bead of hot glue around the hose and let it seep through the gap between the collar and hose to further support the hose and completely insure an air tight seal.
Worked like a charm, beats spending $30 - $50 on a replacement.
