Moss MS2000?

I have a Moss MS 2000 Cordless Home Security System, which is continuously going off for no reason and is really old now. We would like to just take the whole thing out and get rid of it. Does anyone know the best way to do this???

If anyone has any PIRs, remotes or door sensors in GWO they no longer want/need and could let me have I'd be very grateful. Or where I can get them from please? I'm on aol.com

I agree with Peter C. The battery volts in the PIR detectors must not be allowed to fall below 8V.

Hi Noticed this old thread
I've been having the same problem. Only difference is I've never used batteries in the unit and don't use the external siren. After being like this for years it's suddenly started alarming erratically - and typically middle of the night!
Any suggestions as a I really want to keep the system because it's been great up till now
Cheers
Peter

The probable reason your alarm is going off is that the back-up batteries are dead. Power supplies usually dip in the night and this can cause the alarm to think the power has been cut. It switches to battery back-up but if that's not there it goes in to alarm mode.
I've just replaced my 16 year old batteries (should have done it years ago) and got my alarm back up and running.
By the way, do you still have a copy of your instruction manual for the MS2000? I'd be grateful for a copy if you do.

Disconnect the mains power supply probably a plug in adaptor. Disconnect the backup battery inside the control panel if there is one. if at his point the external siren activates get a ladder up to it (careful !) and disconnect the battery in the siren unit.

If you like the wire free concept go for a professional wire free alarm to the new standard EN50131 at Grade 2.
