why does my frigidair washing machine overflow?

I had a hotpoint top loader that did the same thing and discovered a vaccum bottle valve in the back of the machine had stuck in closed position so preventing the pressure from flow into the bottle shutting of the inlet valve I cleared it by removing the thin pipe at the top and blowing down it and you hear a slight click as the valve comes free, no trouble after that.
Of course the other thing if yours hasn't got that, it could be the inlet valve sticking on which of course will have to be replaced. sorry can't help further. bob
