I WAS TOLD BY AN AUTO ELECTRICIAN THAT NINE TIMES OUT OF TEN ALL THESE TYPE OF ALARM PROBLEMS ARE DOWN TO THE ALARM PUSH BUTTON UNDER THE BONNET.THIS IS MOUNTED ON THE FRONT CROSS MEMBER AND IS PROTECTED BY A RUBBER BOOT.IN NEARLY ALL CASES THE WEATHER AND RAIN PENETRATES THIS BOOT CAUSEING THE ALARM TO MALFUNCTION. THIS IS A WELL KNOWN WEAK POINT ON ALL FORDS.ONCE I HAD REPLACED THE BUTTON THE ALARM WORKED PERFECTLY.
