It means the engine injection computer has detected a fault in one or more of the sensors/valves/position detecters, the only way to find out is with a diagnostic fault code reader or by shorting some pins and connecting an LED to the diagnostic connector by the battery and then you can count the flash codes and from the table you can work out the fault
