Mend Empisal Super Star Mark II

Empisal Super Star Mark II Embroidery machine not picking up bottom thread?

I just inherited this machine with a broken needle. After replacing the needle, it won't pick up the bottom thread. The bobbin race does move, but gets stuck halfway round, although I can manually move it through 360. No teeth are broken on the gears. Is this likely to be a timing issue? If so, do you have any instructions?

Quite likely to be a small piece of thread stuck in the raceway, force the balance wheel backwards to see if it will free off, you may see the thread, e-mail me and I will attache timing instructions.
