How can I relpair my electrical cord on a Simlicity 7350 vacuum?

I cut the cut portion off the electrical cord that was split and reconnected it with the correct color coding and it won't run. Is there a reset button? If you held the cord together at the split it would run. Any ideas?

The cord repair came apart. It is best to replace the entire cord. External splices generally aren't as safe or secure as an entire cord replacment. It is best for a repair shop to do the work.
