reset my electric window?

my passenger window goes up and then comes down about half way but if i inch it up it it works ok how do i reset it so it works automatically.my car is a 99 vectra cd auto

as far as i know you turn all your dash lights on then bring your window down then up again and hold for 2 seconds, bingo!!! close all doors first.

it possibly has the same safety system as vw audi etc which returns the glass back inside the door if it detects something is trapped in it,try spraying the outer door seals that the glass runs in with silicone spray because these seals may be gripping the glass and creating the impression something is trapped.
